A downward trend

My journey in becoming and living more consciously is something I take very seriously. It is what drives my passion to spread this information to those who are wanting to take the same path. I truly believe there is an urgency for us to awaken to the reality that we are amidst a very unfortunate downward trend. Let’s do a little assessment - just off the top of your head, how many people (to include yourself) are you aware of that have physical or emotional health issues? How many people do you know that are prescribed medication, for maybe more than one ongoing issue? How many people do you know that use substances casually, multiple times a week or on a daily basis? How many people do you know that have lost someone to suicide? How many people do you know with children who struggle with issues such as allergies, asthma, or behavioral issues? How many people do you see who are stuck in a way of functioning that very clearly does not serve them, yet they struggle to change? More and more people are falling physically ill, plagued by chronic health conditions that seem to come out of nowhere. Perpetual mental and emotional distress seem to be something that a large majority of our population deals with - a lingering state that holds us back from truly living in a way that feels good. The average IQ of Americans has been dropping for over a decade, chronic health issues continue to climb at alarming rates, and there is an average of 132 deaths by suicide every day. Chronic childhood illnesses are occurring at rates that are higher than they ever have been, some increasing by as much as 300%. Mental health symptoms and diagnoses in children continue to increase each year, with a whopping $247 billion dollars spent each year managing childhood mental health issues. So what is happening? And why do we continue to let another day, week, month, and year pass by without finding answers? From my research, what I found is actually pretty obvious. We are living in a culture that is not conducive to wellness. The intersection of neglecting our emotions, managing stress inappropriately and ineffectively, and the assaults on our physical health at the hands of corrupt systems is a recipe for disaster. In fact, we are living in a culture and a time that goes directly against everything that allows us to be well. It’s really not rocket science. And from the looks of it, a lot of our population is okay with living in this passive and subdued state. It can be extremely difficult to take our power back from this culture, but I promise you, it is possible and very much worth it. In order to prevent continuing down this downward spiral in health with the masses, we must become aware and educated on the things that are creating the “perfect storm” that is allowing this to happen. The reality is, unless systemic changes occur (very unlikely as most systems are motivated by money, not by what is right or best) WE have to be the ones to wake up and choose not to fall victim to the disintegration of our power and the world around us. In order to not be a statistic in this downward trend, there are certain choices you must be willing to make. Very alarmingly, we are now needing to fight for our lives and our health in a way that is unique to the conditions of our time. The first step in this fight is waking up and educating yourself. You get to choose. Do you like what you see in what is happening around you? Will you sit idly, passively? Or will you be one of the ones to break patterns, reclaim your life, and exude confidence that you are knowledgeable in what you need to do to protect yourself? The choice is yours. If you feel you are ready to undertake this journey, I welcome you.
